5. Cache - Ennert (GCNP56)
Nach dem Debakel des Vorabends haben wir uns beim Steppenwolf in Bonn ein GPS Gerät gekauft, und damit ging es dann heute los.
Der erste Weg führte uns in den Wald. Direkt machte sich der neue Komfort bemerkbar, man musste nur der Linie im Display folgen. Natürlich verließ ich dabei wieder die normalen Pfade - obwohl in der Cachebeschreibung steht, dass das nur am Ende nötig wäre (seit wann lese ich die sinnvollen Tipps) - und wir mussten über einen Bach hüpfen, um dahinter wieder auf unseren Weg zu treffen... Naja, so kann's gehen. Die eigentlichen Koordinaten waren sehr schnell gefunden. Dann haben wir gesucht und gesucht und so tolle Verstecke gesehen. Unter Baumwurzeln am Hang, in ausgehöhlten Bäumen usw. aber nichts. Jan meinte schon scherzhaft, es wäre den Wildschweinen, die in der Nähe gebuddelt hatten, zum Opfer gefallen. Nach mehrmaligem Suchen habe ich dann den Hinweis entschlüsselt. Weiter im Anhang. Achtung, Spoiler! 4. Cache - Burgschatz (GCXBZ0)
Auf ging es kurz nach Mittag, Richtung Blankenberg. Wir haben an der Burgruine geparkt und sind zu Fuß in die Stadt gegangen, da die Cache-Koordinaten an der Stadtmauer gelegen waren.
 Blankenberg Also rein in die Stadt und dann nach links. Die ganze Zeit lagen wir im Streit mit unserem Navi, was uns am liebsten ein wenig außerhalb der Stadt gesehen hätte. Leider ist die Reaktionszeit des Gerätes zu langsam und die Ungenauigkeit manchmal über 10 m. An der Stadtmauer gab es schon diverse interessante Stellen, wo man sich fast ein Versteck hätte denken können... Weiter geht es im verstecken Anhang, da ich dieses Mal genauer auf die Fundstelle eingehe, da dieser einen Großteil der Geschichte ausmacht. Wenn ihr also den Burgschatz nicht gehoben habt, dieses aber irgendwann einmal vorhabt (wozu ich euch raten würde, netter kleiner Cache), solltet ihr nicht weiter lesen! Burgschatz
Eben vor der Arbeit noch den Burgschatz gehoben.
 Stadt Blankenberg: Blick auf die Burg. Aber fangen wir mal von vorne an: Da wir noch etwas Zeit hatten, bevor wir zur Arbeit mußten, haben wir uns einfach unseren Ordner mit Locations geschnappt und sind los.  Wenn man kein Weitwinkel dabei hat, läßt man sich nachher einfach eins aus mehreren Bildern ausrechnen.  Haben außerhalb von Blankenberg geparkt und sind dann los gezogen, die ganze Zeit begleitet vom grandiosen Blick über das Siegtal und die mittelalterliche Kulisse auf der anderen Seite. An den Koordinaten angekommen war sich das GPS mal wieder nicht ganz so sicher, ob wir nun wirklich da wären, und so haben wir uns einfach etwas umgeschaut - zuerst etwas fruchtlos. Sind dann noch einen anderen Weg gegangen, haben das Auto umgeparkt, aber schließlich haben dann den Cache doch genau dort gefunden, wo wir zuerst gesucht hatten. Fazit: Schneller Cache, wenn man nicht zu früh aufgibt und dem Navi nicht traut!

3. Cache - Dondorfer Wäldchen (GC110FT)
Nach dem Misserfolg am "Dom", wo wir nie waren, da wir vom See nicht wegkamen, sind wir direkt vom Parkplatz aus den vermatschten Waldweg hoch, ins Dondorfer Wäldchen. Ein herkömmlicher Traditional, aber im Gegensatz zu unseren beiden ersten Funden kein Micro sondern ein "Regular", genau richtig, um doch noch was zu finden...
Erst führte dieser Weg brav nach links (etwa Osten), bog aber plötzlich nach rechts ab. Zuerst waren wir etwas unsicher, ob wir den steilen Anstieg in die falsche Himmelsrichtung wagen sollten, entschlossen uns aber schließlich dafür. Nach einigen hundert Metern ging es dann wieder nach Osten um die Ecke, nicht mehr durch den Wald, sondern am Rand des Feldes am Wald entlang. Dort lag links von uns, in der Nähe eines Hochstandes, dessen Plastik-Fenster fröhlich reflektierten, im abgeernteten Mais, ein Fass. Noch ein paar Meter weiter haben wir uns auf einer recht verwahrlosten Bank erstmal eine Sekunde ausgeruht um zu peilen, wie weit wir noch nach Süden müssten. Dabei habe ich mich natürlich zielsicher in die Stacheln gesetzt, was ich erst beim Aufstehen wieder merkte. Wie heißt es so schön? "Nur die Harten kommen in den Garten." Kurz drauf hatten wir die Wahl: Wieder in den Wald, oder weiter nach Süden am Feld entlang. Wir entschlossen uns für den Wald. Dort musste Jan auf der nächsten defekten Bank erstmal rasten um seine Schnürsenkel zu binden. Dabei wurden wir fast von zwei Rehen überfallen, die scheinen uns nicht gesehen zu haben. Danach ging es noch ein wenig im Wald nach oben. Als das Navi dann meinte da zu sein, sah ich mich schon mal um. Natürlich hat es auch hier gesponnen, und meinte plötzlich, wir wären zu weit. Also sind wir wieder ein Stück zurück und dort haben wir dann beide geschaut. Jan am falschen Ende, ich am richtigen. Der 3. Cache war um etwa 16:20 gefunden. Der Inhalt war diesmal spannend, da wir bisher ja nur Micros mit Logbuch und maximal einem Stift, kannten. Der Cache selber (ein Köfferchen) war in einer Plastiktüte, in einen, schon leicht angefetzten, Müllsack gehüllt. Das Logbuch im Inneren war mit einem AMD-Stift in einem wiederverschließbaren Frischhaltebeutel (kein ziploc und ich weiß nicht, wie das normale heißt ). Die Leute hatten darin nicht nur ihren Namen, sondern auch ein paar Worte zum Trip und dazu, was sie entnommen und hinterlassen haben, eingetragen; also haben wir es ihnen gleich getan, nachdem wir den Inhalt (ein Schlüsselband, eine Kriegerfigur, eine Sammelkarte, ein Reflektierbär, ein Glastier mit Würfelchen im Inneren...) inspiziert hatten. Wir entnahmen einen "rosa Elefanten" und hinterließen einen kleinen Eisenbahnwaggon. Einen Travelbug oder Geocoin gab es im Cache nicht.Da meine Hände überhaupt nicht mehr warm werden wollten, musste Jan den Cache wieder gut an seinem Versteck verstauen. Der Rückweg zum Auto war schnell geschafft. Damit endete aber leider der Tag, da Jan um 18 Uhr noch woanders hin musste. 2. Cache - MBC #1 (GC1857K)
Unser zweiter Cache war keinen Kilometer von zuhause entfernt.
Nachdem wir nach dem Erfolg der "Rehwiese" nach Hause gedüst sind und uns vier weitere Ziele in der Umgebung ausgedruckt haben, sind wir weiter, Richtung Rütsch. So heißt eine Straße bei uns, die von Lanzenbach/Kuchenbach hoch nach Lichtenberg führt. Wir wussten, dass das Ziel weiter Nord-Östlich, weiter oben in den Feldern liegen würde, da uns aber die Fahrt die Rütsch hoch zu weit südlich erschien, haben wir einfach unten geparkt und sind einen, mir aus der Vergangenheit bekannten Feldweg hoch, um das obere Ende des Feldes zu erreichen. Dieser Feldweg schlängelt sich S-förmig durch den angrenzenden Wald und schien uns unnötig lang, also sind wir bei erster Gelegenheit links, in nördlicher Richtung den steilen Hang hoch. Unterwegs fanden wir Hasen- und Hundeköttel. Oben, wo wir relativ atemlos ankamen - kaum einen Meter weiter nördlich, da es die ganze Zeit eher hoch als voran ging - trafen wir auf einen verrotteten Hochstand, weiter links (oder auch etwas weiter unten) sah man eine alte Kapelle. Direkt voraus war die erste härtere Falle, ein Stacheldrahtzaun. Wir entschieden uns also erstmal weiter nach Osten (für uns zu diesem Zeitpunkt rechts), am Stacheldrahtzaun entlang zu schlappen. Dabei musste ich mich immer wieder gegen Äste und Stacheln wehren. Irgendwann kamen wir zu den Kühen auf der oberen Wiese von "Kuhweid", wie wir diese Gegend immer bezeichnen, hübsche Galloway-Rinder. Das sind die flusigen, braunen. Die schauten jedenfalls etwas irritiert. Kurz dahinter stießen wir dann wieder auf die Biegung des S-förmigen Weges, der uns auch hätte nach oben bringen können. Dieser war eine einzige Matschpfütze hier oben, obwohl es sonst relativ trocken war. Nun waren wir am oberen Ende von Kuhweid und genossen die tolle Aussicht auf Lanzenbach und unser zuhause. Dann schauten wir die Wiesen hinauf und machten uns auf, weiter nach Nord-Ost. Ab nun war es einfach und die Koordinaten, sowie die in der Beschreibung angegebene Bank, schnell gefunden. Es hat ganz schön gestürmt da oben und von Frisur konnte man schon bald nicht mehr reden. Diesmal fand Jan den eigentlichen Cache. Dümmlich grinsend stand er daneben und verneinte nur unglaubwürdig, als ich ihn fragte, ob er es gefunden hätte. Naja, Männer halt, leicht zu durchschauen. Auch hier schrieben wir uns ins Logbuch und machten Beweisfotos. Außerdem notierten wir uns die Bonuszahl, mit der dieser Cache versehen war. In der Beschreibung stand "erster Cache in einer Serie (noch im Aufbau befindlich)". Wir sind bereit! Als wir so da saßen, kamen zwei Jogger vorbei, naja, die muss es unter den ganzen Nordic-Walkern ja auch noch geben. Dann machten wir uns durch den stärker gewordenen Wind und den einsetzenden Nieselregen, in einsetzender Dämmerung, auf den beschwerlichen Rückweg - währen wir doch nur die Rütsch hoch gefahren. Diesmal sind wir direkt an der Biegung, wo der Feldweg von oben in den Wald führte, den Hang hinab. Hier war es sehr steil und unzählige Fußangeln erschwerten den Abstieg. Irgendwann huschte in etwa 20 Meter Entfernung ein Füchschen durch den Wald. Die Tannen über uns wurden im Wind ganz schön geschüttelt und eine klang fast so, als wollte die eine oder andere umkippen, so schlugen sie gegeneinander. Mit Hilfe einiger quer liegender Äste und Zweige konnten wir den Abstieg vereinfachen und waren bald sicher wieder auf dem Feldweg. Leider war es unten angekommen schon fast zu dunkel, um noch einen weiteren Cache in Angriff zu nehmen, trotzdem haben wir das "Dondorfer Wäldchen" (GC110FT) schon mal angepeilt und die Gegend ausgekundschaftet. Dabei sind wir auch die Rütsch mit dem Auto hoch und haben gemerkt, dass das natürlich vorher viel cleverer gewesen wäre, aber naja, Umweg muss ja sein. Fazit: Fallen: Hasenköttel, Hundeköttel, Stacheldraht, Brombeerstacheln, Fußangeln, fast umkippende Bäume Gegner: Galloway-Rinder, Jogger und ein Fuchs Rätsel: nicht zu schwer, von Jan gehoben Cacher: Jan & Jana Finder: Jan (16:40) Sonntag, 20. 1. Cache - Rehwiese (GC18C4Y)
Unser erster Cache war GC18C4Y oder auch Rehwiese.
Ich möchte euch darauf hinweisen, dass der folgende Text ggf. Spoiler über den Cache "Rehwiese" enthält, auch wenn ich mich bemühe alles neutral zu halten. Also lest bitte nur weiter, wenn euch dies egal ist. Da wir heute von Hennef nach Seelscheid und zurück unterwegs waren, haben wir uns für den Einstieg etwas gesucht, was direkt auf diesem Weg liegt. Die Rehwiese hat eine Schwierigkeit von 1 und auch das "Terrain" ist nur mit 1 1/2 bewertet, außerdem handelt es sich um einen Traditional-Cache und einen Micro, also nichts zu aufregendes für einen Newbie. Wir hatten vorher schon eine Vorahnung, wo der Parkplatz von dem in der Beschreibung die Rede war, zu finden war und haben es auf dem Hinweg schon ausgespäht. In Seelscheid angekommen haben wir uns erstmal die Koordinaten in "Decimal Degrees" umgerechnet, damit auch unser Navi was damit anfangen konnte. Auf dem Rückweg haben wir dann auf dem Parkplatz gehalten und uns erstmal in Nord-Süd-Richtung ausgerichtet. Das war einfach. Allerdings stellt uns Ost-West vor ein Problem, ein nasses, etwa 2 Meter breites namens Bach. Beste Voraussetzungen für einen Umweg, aber ich habe gehört, das muss so sein... Wir haben uns jedenfalls auf beiden Seiten des Flusses umgesehen und - beim Versuch doch einmal an den exakten Koordinaten, aus Sicht unseres Navis, zu stehen - mitten im "Sumpf" stehende Kanaldeckel erklommen, sowie gegen Brombeerstacheln gekämpft. Fündig wurde letztendlich ich, etwa um 15:30, während Jan versuchte im Fluss zu planschen. War ja dann eigentlich doch ganz einfach. Wir haben uns also im Logbuch verewigt, zig Bilder gemacht und alles wieder so hinterlassen, wie wir es vorfanden. Kaum war die Tat vollbracht, ärgerten wir uns, dass wir nur zu diesem einen Cache etwas ausgedruckt hatten, schließlich war es noch früh und der Durst geweckt.
